With over 45 years in the jewelry industry Mr. Painter’s experience is a rare amalgamation of jobs within the industry starting at 10-11 years old, making jewelry in the garage for his Mom & Grandmothers. His first “official” job in a jewelry store was at 15-16 years old at Bowie Jeweler’s shop in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mr. Painter has four years of manufacturing experience, 12 years in jewelry sales and jewelry retail management, two years in wholesale distribution, the invention of the first universal microscopic video imaging system adapter for jewelry microscopes that has I been the foundation of 29 years of jewelry appraisal experience, with a Gemological Institute of America Gemologist diploma (GIA) dated March 30th, 1994. Each jewelry experience has made for a unique understanding of all considerations that influence value.
29 years from the beginning, Lance is proud to serve customers with a new single item for a newly wedding couple to many high profile customer’s (you know who you are) with hundreds of items, Lance helps customers with customers with a wide variety jewelry appraisal/ gemological needs including gem identification.

In addition to using scietific equipment developed for the jewelry industry, we have developed some ideas of our own. Including the first video imaging system that uses a universal ocular adapter.
GemScreen Gemological Services was the first and only company in the world to provide laser inscriptions services. The laser was retired in 2017.
GemScreen Gemological Services continues to innovate by combining today's smart phone with a gemological microscope to provide microscopic inspection with image capture.
